This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how SynrgyConnect Pty Ltd ("Cashie", "we", "our", or "us"), the maker of Cashie: Smart Budget Tracker, collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes your personal information when you use our Services (use of our mobile app, any related website, and other interactions you may have with us), as well as your privacy rights and choices regarding your personal information.
This Policy forms a part of our Terms of Service, and terms not defined in this Policy are defined in the Terms of Service.
If you reside in the U.S. and are under 13 years of age, you should not use our Services. If you reside in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom and are under 16 years of age, you should not use our Services. If we become aware that an individual below the applicable age may have provided us with personal information, we will investigate and, if applicable, take steps to remove and delete the data and delete that individual's account.
Personal Information We Collect
We may collect personal information directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, and from a small number of third-party service providers that help us operate the app.
Personal Information We Collect Directly from You
- Profile Information. When you set up Cashie you may optionally provide a first name and an email address. Neither is required to use the app. During onboarding you may answer optional questions that we use to personalize your experience (for example, a budgeting "archetype" and related preferences). We do not collect your last name, date of birth, phone number, or postal address.
- Budgeting and Financial Data You Enter. Cashie lets you record financial information so you can track your spending and savings. This includes the transactions you log (such as a merchant or description, an amount, a category, a date, and an optional note), your savings goals, your category budgets, and related deposits and progress you record. All of this information is entered by you. It does not include bank account numbers, card numbers, or banking login credentials, and Cashie does not import data from any bank or financial institution.
- Communications with Cashie. If you contact us (for example, by email for support), we collect your email address, name, and any other content you choose to provide.
- Payment Information. Cashie offers an optional paid subscription (Cashie Pro). Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple's terms, which govern payment processing, renewals, and refunds. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Personal Information We Collect Automatically
- Account Identifier. When you first open Cashie, the app creates an anonymous account on our backend so that your data can be saved and synced. This account is identified by a randomly generated identifier stored on your device. It is not tied to your real-world identity unless you choose to provide an email or name.
- Usage and Device Data. We may collect limited information about how you use the app, such as which features you interact with and general, non-precise device and app information, so that we can understand product usage, fix problems, and improve Cashie. We do not collect your precise location, and the app does not use advertising identifiers.
Cashie is a native mobile app and does not use cookies, web beacons, pixels, cross-app tracking, or advertising trackers. Our privacy manifest declares that the app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Personal Information We Receive From Third Parties
We work with a small set of service providers, and we may receive limited information from them in order to run the Services:
- Apple. When you purchase or manage a Cashie Pro subscription, we receive information from Apple's App Store to verify and manage your subscription status (for example, a subscription transaction identifier and whether your subscription is active). This is also used to enable certain Pro-only features, such as Quick Log automation.
- Infrastructure and analytics providers. Our backend and analytics providers process information on our behalf to store and sync your data and to help us understand aggregate product usage and reliability. See the "How We Disclose Personal Information" section for the list.
Aggregated, De-identified, or Anonymized Information
We may aggregate, de-identify, or anonymize information so that it can no longer reasonably be used to identify you. We may use and disclose such information for any purpose permitted by applicable law, and we will not attempt to re-identify it except as permitted by law.
How We Use Personal Information
- Provide and operate the Services. To create and maintain your account, to save and sync the budgets, goals, and transactions you enter across your device and our backend, to enable features such as reminders and Quick Log automation, and to provide customer support.
- Manage subscriptions. To provide, verify, and manage Cashie Pro and Pro-only features.
- Communicate with you. To respond to your questions and requests and to send administrative messages, such as changes to our terms and policies.
- Improve and personalize the Services. To understand how Cashie is used, fix bugs, improve reliability, and tailor in-app content to you.
- Maintain security and prevent misuse. To keep the Services secure and to detect and prevent fraud and unauthorized access.
- Comply with legal obligations. To comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling. Cashie shows no ads.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose personal information only to the limited categories of recipients described below:
- Service Providers. We use a small number of providers that process information on our behalf so we can run the Services:
- Supabase provides our database, authentication, and data-sync infrastructure. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- PostHog provides product analytics that help us understand aggregate usage and improve the app. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.
- Apple processes your subscription purchases and provides subscription status, and its Shortcuts and App Intents features support Quick Log automation. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Legal and Safety. To comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the rights, property, privacy, or safety of you, us, or others.
- Business Transactions. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, your personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, consistent with applicable law.
- With Your Direction or Consent. When you direct us to or otherwise consent. For example, if you use the in-app feature to share a summary image of your own activity, that content is shared only where you choose to send it from your device.
How We Protect Your Information
We maintain reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect personal information under our control from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Data synced to our backend is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and access to your records is restricted to your account. If you enable Face ID, it is used only to unlock the app on your device and is never transmitted to us. Despite our efforts, no security measures can guarantee absolute security.
How We Retain Your Information
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements). When we no longer need your information, we will delete or de-identify it.
How to Access or Delete Your Information
Your budgeting data lives in your Cashie account. You can edit or delete individual transactions, goals, and budgets directly in the app at any time. You may also request that we delete your account and the personal information associated with it by contacting us at cashieapp@outlook.com. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data from your device; to also remove data synced to our backend, please use the in-app deletion options or contact us.
International Transfers of Personal Information
We are based in Australia, and our service providers operate in the United States and other countries. As a result, your personal information may be processed and stored in the United States and elsewhere, and may be transferred to, and processed in, countries with data protection laws that differ from those in your country of residence. When we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps designed to ensure it remains protected in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.
